Experiment (Advice for an Effective Study Habit)

EXPERIMENT: 

Forced memorization/familiarization of two different subjects simultaneously in a span of less than 20 minutes.

So this afternoon, I've been forced to review two different subjects at the same time--'Data Communications' and 'Feedback and Control System'. Well, its not actually 'forced'… so here's the scenario:

I borrowed a book in Feedback and Control System yesterday in our school library to review (since we'll be having a quiz today) then, when I opened the book, I realized that it was not the same as our professor is using! So the book became of no use. 

I went to school early this day to go to the library but the reference book my teacher was using is currently not available! How unlucky I am? -_- 

Hours passed.

1 hour before the subject of Feedback and Control system, I saw my prof and asked him if I could go borrow his reference book. Good thing that he agreed. But the thing is, before that subject, we'll be having Data Communications subject!!! 

So while my prof in Data Communications is discussing, I'm reading the copy of the reference book I borrowed.

Listening to my prof in Data Communications and memorizing terminologies in Feedback. I did that simultaneously.

15 minutes before Feedback, my prof in Data told us to review 'cause she'll be giving a SURPRISE quiz.

What I thought that time?

Jeez. I'm dead meat!!! -_-

So I get my notes in Data and started to scan the three-page photocopied paper. I memorized the words. No choice. I've set aside my memory of Feedback and forced my brain to memorize those terminologies.

After 10 minutes, quiz has started.

FOCUS.

That was my companion that time.

CONCENTRATION.

My mind has set to it.

But no matter how great my concentration is, it is still not enough! (since I was only half-listening during the discussion!)

At the end, I got 12 over 15. 

80% rate!

The next subject, FEEDBACK AND CONTROL SYSTEM.

10 minutes to refresh my mind, and continue my memorization a while ago.

After a while, quiz has started.

Result?

I got 20 over 25.

80% again.. -_-

RESULT: 

ONLY 80% rating of the total score in quiz in BOTH subjects. 
(gomenasai!!!  )

I always aim for perfect score that's why I'm kinda disappointed with the result and with my action.

CONCLUSION: 

Prepare ACCURATE review materials and review AT LEAST 1 hr next time! (Take note to self)

I'll make sure that I'll take note that  to myself. Don't wanna have an 80% again next time. I feel sorry for my profs.

P.S: If you want to have a perfect score, don't try this experiment!

Euclid Shellingford (The Making of a New Detective)

"Once you eliminate all the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth!"

This is actually my favorite quotation very well said by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the one who creates the greatest fictional detective of all time--Sherlock Holmes. As you can see, I love mysteries, detectives, crime fiction, baffling cases, coded messages, and the likes that's why I came up with Euclid Shellingford.

So who is this Euclid Shellingford?

He is my fictional detective character.
'Euclid' came from the mathematician named Euclid and Shellingford is from the original name of Sherlock Holmes. (Why Euclid? Because I love math, period.)

Euclid Shellingford is an 18-year old Mensa International Agent/Detective who solves crimes and baffling cases secretly in England. That was his life there UNTIL his mom came and decided to take him back to the Philippines. Being forced to study in the Philippines as an ordinary college student, taking up Chemical Engineering, Euclid just goes on the flow. There he solved the first case 'Drebber and Trevelyan Double Murder Case' and encounter the word 'Rache' which means "Revenge' in german.

The next days after that, he met the girl named Nickan Sheedo who annoys him at first. Later on, he finds out that this girl is the new member of Red Phoenix, the organization that his mom leads (Chapter 8: Her true identity)

His second case occurs when his uncle, Inspector Dy called him and there, he solved the unusual case of the Clemente family dealing with paranormal activities of the spirit Cleo in 'The ghost that appeared on an unlucky day'.



 After that case, he teamed up with Nickan solving the 'The Kidnapped Child Mystery Case'



They received a challenge from Moriarty, a cyber genius who is also a student of Elite's Academy.

Moriarty is the name of archenemy of Holmes, that's why I chose that one to be the code name of Euclid's mortal enemy. At present, no one knows the identity of Moriarty aside from being the leader of Dark Chaos. He was the one who shoots Nickan the day after her birthday. (The tragedy in the Birthday Party: Part 3). Euclid has solved a case after visiting Nickan in the hospital. (The Stabbed Mistress Murder Case). Moriarty's sister is JTR (Jeanette T. Randall), the indirect killer in Chapter 15.





Their next case involved a 5-minute crime, when a mystery writer has been killed in her own apartment. At the end, Euclid was able to know the truth behind the case.

Why did I make this detective fiction?

Because I feel like doing it. It serves as my stress-reliever. Yeah, it sounds weird but it actually lessen my brain activity... knowing that there is something I could put off my ideas and imagination into.

As for the Korean actors and actresses I've picked, they are my personal choices. I really love them... ^_^

Nacreous Clouds?

It was the 31st of May when I accidentally captured the images below. 

It looks like Nacreous Clouds to me. 

According to the internet, nacreous cloud is a cloud resembling a cirrus, showing iridescent coloration when the sun is several degrees below the horizon. A rare, iridescent cloud formation, occurring in the stratosphere at a mean height of 24 km. It develops above high latitudes, shortly after sunset or before dawn. Its stationary nature suggests that this is a mountain wave cloud.

But how could a nacreous cloud appear in the Philippines, a tropical country?

Is it just a natural phenomenon when the light from the sun just scattered in the sky, forming pinkish with yellow color? 

Or is it a sign, a warning that the Earth's ozone layer is in critical condition?

Well, I just wished that everything goes well.
And that my dream before about the dark days won't come true.

On a rainy day like this, I should have watched my favorite anime while lying on my favorite sofa but, I'm not. I just visit my wattpad account a while ago and browse the pages I've written, reading all the comments out there, my heart has been filled with so much happiness.

Bestfriends

Note: I've written this short story last year and has posted it on wattpad. I decided to post it here since this is what I'm feeling now. I'm missing my best friend. Hayss..

I have a guy childhood friend. He’s always there when I needed a bestfriend, a tutor, a bodyguard, a buddy, a company and a brother. But I don’t want to be his so called ‘bestfriend’.

Why?

Because I’m in love with him ever since we were young and my yaya told me before that falling inlove with my bestfriend is the sweetest yet the most painful kind of love. That’s why we’re always arguing. I don’t want to be attached to him that much, but looks like the opposite is happening. Even if we’re not bestfriends, we still act as one. And I learned to love him more as we grow old.

One call from him and I’ve cancelled all my appointments for this day. That’s how important he is to me.

“What’s the matter?” I asked him as I came.

“Nothing... I just feel like I’m all alone.”

“Ehh? But I’m always here for you!”

“Someday, you won’t be there when I call you”

“That is if you told me to stay away from you!”

“Well, I wouldn’t do that”

“Hehe I know, so what’s the matter?”

“I think I’m inlove.”

“Ouch—ah I mean, w-who’s the lucky girl?,” I asked him with dead tone.

“Someone who doesn’t like me”

“Ohh... I know the feeling.. we’re on the same shoe.”

“You like someone too?”

“yeah”

“Oh I’ve lost my hopes! She’ll never like me!”

“Oh c’mon! Who wouldn’t fall for a guy like you? You have everything a girl may wish for!”

“But she’ll never like me!”

“How’d you know?”

“I just know”

“You told her your feelings? Have you confessed already?”

“nah... I don’t have the guts!”

“Then how will you know if that girl likes you or not?”

“I asked her.”

“You asked her what?”

“I asked her if she likes someone then she said ‘yeah’ ”

“Ohh... but that’s different from aasking if she likes you or not!”

“That’s just the same! She’ll never like me!”

“What kind of girl wouldn’t like you?”

“You.”

“That’s not true! I like you!!”

“REALLY? W-well, I like you too..”

“See? So are you going to confessed to that girl?”

“I think... I just did.”
